Wanted – Butcher or person with knife skills

Frazer’s Butchery is a small family owned butchering business located in Augathella South West Queensland. Although small in size we are kept busy with tourist season and servicing private kills as we still own and operate our own slaughterhouse – we process cattle, sheep and pigs.

We are looking for a butcher or person with knife skills who is available for tourist season from May to September/October 2025 – we will also consider applicants that are only able to commit to a month or so. You will need to be trust worthy, well presented and able to work both in a team and individually. Ideally, we would like someone who is able to work full-time five days a week (weekends are yours if you prefer) but we are open to all applicants.

You will be provided with a competitive wage (to be discussed based on experience level) and a 3 bedroom semi-furnished fully airconditioned (reverse cycle) comfortable house located next door to the butcher shop. The house will be provided to you free of charge (except electricity) whilst you are working in our butchery.

Augathella is located 750km west from Brisbane and although small we are well serviced. We have a local pub, grocery store, Australia Post, Bank of Queensland, chemist, bulk billed doctors clinic, library, hospital, bowls club, golf club and roadhouse. Augathella experiences mild winters in comparison to southern states. Our nights and mornings can dip into the low negatives but our days warm up quickly and are enjoyable so if you're looking to beat the cold Augathella is for you.
