Description
Are you a retired couple or a couple travelling who are looking for a caretaking role either for the medium or longterm?
After a wonderful 4 years, our current caretakers are moving on and as a result we are seeking a capable house proud couple to replace them on our 75000 acre cattle breeder block.
“RUINED CASTLE” is a scenic, remote forestry block surrounded on 3 sides by National Park. 75km on dirt road to the nearest town, Taroom (and 152km to Theodore) it offers a quiet and peaceful caretaking experience.
A typical week would involve approximately 20 hours of work assisting with water runs, lick runs and general property maintenance inc general maintenance to house, garden, sheds, fencing, waters, vehicles, roads/tracks and cattle yards, regular mowing, whippersnipping, slashing and some tractor operation in return for accommodation in a sweet, basic workers cottage. Caravans also welcome and extra paid hours/work in excess of the 20 hrs/week is an option.
Due to the location of the block, the ideal couple would need to have strong practical “handyman” and mechanical skills. The role does not require cattle work although a background with cattle and/or on the land would be an advantage as well as a genuine desire/passion to live remotely.
If you are interested we would love to hear from you:
