Description

🐄 Gayndah, QLD – Ongoing – Cattle property caretaker/s – Exchange position

A cattle property in the North Burnett region of Queensland, close to Gayndah and approximately two hours from Bundaberg, is looking for a reliable single person or couple to live on the property and help with general caretaking.

This is an ongoing exchange opportunity and could suit someone looking for a semi-retirement lifestyle, a longer-term rural base, or the opportunity to seek other employment locally.

The role

The caretaker/s will be expected to spend some time each week helping with general property oversight and maintenance.

Duties may include:

✅ Checking fences and waters
✅ Fixing minor fence or water issues when they arise
✅ Keeping an eye on cattle
✅ Mowing and maintaining the area around the house and sheds
✅ General property upkeep
✅ Keeping an eye on the property and reporting any larger issues

Accommodation

A comfortable house with scenic rural surrounds is provided on the property.

The house is currently fully furnished and, depending on your circumstances, may be supplied either:

✅ Fully furnished
or
✅ Unfurnished

Additional paid work

Depending on your skills and experience, there may also be opportunities for occasional paid work spraying timber regrowth on other properties.

This work would not be available all the time, but could provide some additional income when required.

Who they’re looking for

This opportunity would suit a single person or couple who are:

✅ Reliable and practical
✅ Comfortable living in a rural environment
✅ Happy working independently
✅ Able to handle basic fencing and water-system issues
✅ Comfortable around cattle
✅ Looking for a longer-term arrangement

Previous farm or cattle experience would be helpful, but the right attitude and practical common sense are equally important.
