Exchange Position – Darling River Tourism Station Stay.

We are once again looking for Volunteers to assist us with the running of the tourism side of our business here at Trilby Station near Louth, NSW. My husband and I run merino sheep on our 320,000 acre station along with 2 of our sons and our Grandsons are 7th generation living on the Darling River!

It's now about 26 years since we first welcomed guests to our station and we offer 3 cottages, Bunkhouse ( 9 twin rooms), powered sites and river campsites along with meals by arrangement.

In lieu of a powered site, station meat and eggs, basic groceries (fruit/veg/bread/milk), $250  'pocket money' per couple a week, Trilby station work shirts and caps and a tank of diesel on departure we are looking for assistance (tourism side, not station work) for a few hours a day, 6 days a week with the following tasks:

• daily rubbish and recycling collection from our river campsites.
• campsite maintenance ( replace firewood, rake around the firepit, generally ensure the site is neat and tidy for the next guests) on guest checkout.
• Firewood collection. Capable and experienced with a chainsaw please.
• Cleaning of the amenities daily. This includes bathrooms, laundry, camp kitchen, gazebo and communal firepit area.
• Garden maintenance - this is mainly raking leaves, spot spraying of weeds if required, trimming hedges around the Bunkhouse and powered site area.
• Cleaning the Bunkhouse and Mitch's Hut on guest checkout. If there's a group checking out I assist with these tasks, and I do the Overseer's and Jillaroo's cottages on checkout.
• Occasional guest checkins (if I'm in town for the day) as well as providing the Mud Maps for guests to self explore.

Minimum 2 weeks commitment please so that you get into the swing of things, and you'll be finished by around lunchtime and are then free to relax.

I'm currently looking for Nomad Angels for all of July, August and September as well as the first 3 weeks in October.
