🌿 Kyogle, NSW – October 2026 to October 2027 – Farm / household all-rounder – Exchange position

A farming family in the beautiful Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, near Kyogle, is looking for practical and friendly helpers to stay on the property and lend a hand with a range of light farm and household jobs.

The opportunity is available throughout the next 12 months, and would ideally suit a travelling couple, although singles are also welcome.

Stays can be flexible — from as little as two weeks through to a few months.

The property is around 90 minutes from Byron Bay and the Gold Coast, making it a great base for travellers wanting to spend some time in the Northern Rivers.

The exchange

A self-contained cottage is available for you to stay in and use during your time on the property.

In exchange, the owners are looking for approximately:

✅ 6 hours of help per person, per week for a couple

or

✅ 12 hours per week for a single person

The timing of the work is flexible and can be arranged to suit both parties.

The work

Duties may include:

✅ Gardening
✅ General property maintenance
✅ Cleaning
✅ Helping with small jobs around the farm and home
✅ Other practical tasks depending on your skills and experience

Additional paid work

If you have useful rural or trade skills, there may also be opportunities for additional paid work.

Skills that would be particularly useful include:

✅ Previous farming experience
✅ Welding
✅ Fencing
✅ Tractor driving
✅ General maintenance and repair work
✅ Other practical rural skills

Any paid work would be arranged separately from the accommodation exchange.

Who they’re looking for

A couple is preferred, especially people who are:

✅ Practical and self-motivated
✅ Reliable and easygoing
✅ Comfortable in a rural environment
✅ Happy to work independently
✅ Willing to turn their hand to a variety of jobs
✅ Looking for a flexible country stay rather than full-time work

Length of stay

The arrangement is very flexible.

You may be able to stay for:

✅ Around two weeks
✅ A month or two
✅ Several months

Opportunities are available at different times from October 2026 through to October 2027.

This would suit Grey Nomads or travelling workers looking for a relaxed Northern Rivers base, light weekly duties and the possibility of extra paid work if you have useful farm or trade skills.

We dont mind what skills that you have, as long as you are fit and healthy and have a great attitude.
